* These guidelines were updated on the 1st of September 2024*
We want to ensure the highest quality for our trainings so please read the following policies and guidelines.
The aim of these guidelines is to ensure that all parties involved in our trainings (trainers, facilitators, participants) provide and receive professional, effective, and ethical participation. During our trainings we aim to foster an environment where all individuals feel safe, respected, and supported, regardless of their professional and personal background, including ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality etc. Taking care of people is at the heart of everything we do. Ethical and Legal Standards for all:
- All parties involved (trainers, facilitators and participants) familiarize themselves with ethical guidelines set by professional bodies like the American Psychological Association (APA), British Psychological Society (BPS), Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or other relevant national bodies. Key ethical principles include:
- Confidentiality
- Informed consent
- Competence
- Dual relationships
- Professional boundaries
- All parties involved (trainers, facilitators and participants) use Non-Discriminatory Language at all times: Use inclusive, non-discriminatory language that respects the identity and dignity of all individuals. Avoid terms or labels that could be stigmatizing or offensive.
- All parties involved (trainers, facilitators and participants) show Respect for Identity at all times: Recognize and respect individuals’ gender identity, pronouns, and cultural or ethnic identifiers in all communication and documentation.
- All parties involved (trainers, facilitators and participants) are invited to become aware or any dual relationships that may appear during the training; if the participants happen to know the trainers or the facilitators from others settings, all parties involved are invited to become aware of the different power dynamics in this professional relationship, between a trainer/facilitator and participants. All parties involved will work to minimize potential harm by fostering collaboration, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
- Incorporating anti-discriminatory practices into our trainings is of vital importance to us. During our trainings we foster an environment where all individuals feel safe, respected, and supported, regardless of their background. It is a critical part of ethical and effective practice, ensuring that all people receive equitable care. Please note that we show zero tolerance for matters of this section and any failure of following this can lead to interrupting your participation in the training. At such situation the trainers will attend to the situation in a respectful manner. Please note we will not be able to refund you at such situation.
Cancellation policy for our trainings:
Cancellation policies for 1-2 day training events
When cancellations are made more than 1 month prior to the workshop date, you have a choice: receive a refund (less €70.00 administration charge) or a credit for the full amount (less €20.00) to any future workshops/trainings of the Cyprus Institute for Emotion Focused Therapy (CiEFT) Academia.
If cancellation is received fewer than 14 days prior to the workshop date we will not be able to offer you a refund; what we can do is to off a credit of 80 euros for any future training organized solely by the CiEFT Academia workshop/training.
If you cannot attend to the training you booked, you can find a colleague to replace you at no cost. The new candidate need to meet the criteria placed by the trainers. As you understand this change will impact the practical organisation of the training as scheduled by the trainers so this change needs to be approved by the trainers (even if you think the candidate meets the criteria to attend the training). For this please note that: (1) it is your responsibility to notify the trainers in advance of the change; (2) The new candidate needs to be approved by the trainers of the relevant training. The trainers hold the right to not approve this change. We hope you understand that there will be cases that the trainers will be unable to accomodate this change; this might be for a number of practical and ethical reasons. The trainers may or may not disclose the reasons of not approving such change.
We regret that a refund/credit cannot be offered if your cancellation is not received at least one full business week prior to the day of the workshop.
Cancellation policy for trainings lasting more than two days.
Any training which last minimum three (3 days) requires a €250.00 non-refundable deposit. These non-refundable deposits are not transferable unless you are able to fill the vacancy created by the change in plans. Please note, that if registration payment is transferred it is only transferable once.
When cancellations are made 28 days prior to the workshop date, you have a choice: receive a refund (less the €250.00 non-refundable deposit) or a credit towards a future training organized solely by the CiEFT Academia.
We regret that a refund/credit cannot be offered if your cancellation is received with fewer than a 14-day notice prior to the training date.
