We are so pleased to share the completion of our Advanced Empathic Attunement training, an online professional training that brought together psychologists, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals from Canada, Austria, Turkey, the UK, Croatia, Latvia, and Cyprus. Each participant came with their own therapeutic background, clinical experience, and way of working, and that is what made this training especially rich. There was something deeply meaningful about seeing professionals from different countries and diverse therapeutic approaches come together in one shared space with such openness, warmth, and commitment to learning more about advanced empathic skills
Across the training, participants engaged in experiential learning, live demonstrations, clinical teaching, reflection, and hands-on skills practice in small groups supervised by the trainer and the facilitator. More than an online CPD course, this was a deeply relational and practical training experience where therapeutic presence, empathic attunement, and clinical skill could be strengthened in real time
What stayed with us most was watching the group grow day by day. You could feel the deepening in the room — in the openness, the confidence, the trust, and the courage to enter more fully into empathy. This is what high-quality training for therapists can offer: not only knowledge, but transformation in the way we listen, respond, and accompany others in their pain.
We were honoured to have Professor Jeanne Watson as trainer. Internationally known for her major contribution to the development of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Professor Watson has shaped the field through her teaching, research, writing, and clinical work over many years. Learning directly from a trainer of her international standing was a real gift for all involved. The training was facilitated by Dr Christina Michael, whose presence, care, and clinical depth helped hold the learning space throughout and during skills practice. It felt especially meaningful to have Professor Jeanne Watson and Dr Christina Michael teaching together again after their past collaboration in Iran in . There was something quietly powerful in that reconnection — two people meeting again through a shared love for this work, and bringing that shared history, warmth, and depth into the training space. It reminded us that this work has a way of weaving people together across time, countries, and cultures in the service of growth and healing.
We know from research that empathy is not only a personal a clinical skill. It can be developed through intention, knowledge, supervision, and practice. That is why we remain committed to offering high-quality EFT training for psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, and mental health professionals who want to deepen their therapeutic attunement, emotional presence, and clinical effectiveness.
